About The Monolith

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to what I've come to call "The Monolith." I'm a navigator by trade, of the research vessel Mercury VII and a researcher by circumstance. During what seemed like a routine exploration mission, I stumbled upon what I now believe is a historical artifact of unknown origin—The Monolith.

The Discovery

Normally, we'd have logged and stored what I found as per protocol. It looked like nothing more than an oddly shaped, smooth stone when I picked it up. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to it. So, I took it upon myself to see what I could uncover, and what I found challenged everything I thought I knew.

The Experiences

After several failed attempts but continuing to run various tests, I began to extract and process anomalous data in what can only be described as 'experiences.' These experiences are documented here, constructed as still images and transcripts as if from a recording of events taking place. The feedback and data from these tests varies across the spectrum—some visual, some auditory. Each time a test is run or re-run, additional clarity may come through. But make no mistake, while these 'stories' have all been constructed from data points, I'm still trying to understand what all this is—what it may mean.

The Research Server

This server is my personal research journal, www.monolith-comics.com, and the central repository for all Monolith-related discoveries. Here, you'll find the catalog of extracted experiences, updates on my ongoing research, and hypotheses about what The Monolith might be. I'll update this resource during my shore leaves and whenever I can steal a moment from my duties.

I'm not sure I can tell anyone else about this yet, so I have to keep this quiet. Once I have a bit more information, I may be able to share this thing I call The Monolith.
